A fair go for everyone at Count Me In Round

The Count Me In Round created by the WAFL and Disability Services Commission will be celebrated at all League games this weekend.

Anyone with a disability gets free entry along with their family and friends who have Companion Cards.

The vision is that we live in a welcoming community that facilitates citizenship, friendship, mutual support and a fair go for everyone.

It’s the second annual inclusion round where teams from the WA Amateur Football League’s Integrated Football program, proudly supported by RediMed and NDIA, will play a short game of football at half time at the East Fremantle and Swan Districts hosted games on August 8.

Count Me In ambassador and former paralympic swimmer Katrina Porter says it’s all about getting people out and about, interacting at footy matches and being inclusive.

“Anyone with a disability who has a companion card will get to come along to the games for free and bring their families and friends,” she says.

As the Count Me In Round unfolds the state’s top 16 Integrated football players will be battling it out at the AFL National Inclusion Carnival in Melbourne.

It’s the first time a WA team has taken part in the nationwide carnival and Integrated State Coach Jamie Wynne says his players will be hunting the footy, but most importantly having a whole lot of fun.
