The Essendon Women’s Network have launched the 2018 Football Woman of the Year Awards. Now in its 20th year, these awards recognise women in the AFL industry that have made a positive and measurable impact to the advancement of women in Australian Football.
There are three categories:
- Fujitsu General Football Woman of the Year – to celebrate and honour the achievements of professional women who have made an exceptional contribution within the Australian Rules football industry
- Emerging Leader – for those women who are in the early stages of their Australian Rules football careers and who already demonstrate clear leadership potential
- Community Award – to celebrate our unsung heroes who work on a volunteer basis whether at local or AFL level
The winner in each category is awarded at the Fujitsu General Grand Final Comedy Debate held on Thursday 27 September at Crown Palladium.
