Four West Aussies were named in the AFL Under-16s All-Australian Team this week, headlined by coach Kate Orme and State 16s MVP and co-captain Arybella Nelson.
The AAMI WA Football State 16s Girls finished with carnival with a 1-1 record, defeating Brisbane Lions Academy after falling just shy of an opening-game victory over South Australia.
West Perth young gun Nelson, who averaged 26 disposals across the competition including 29 in the final hit-out to be named as skipper of the All-Australian side, was joined by Subiaco’s Bea Crane and Swan Districts’ Keira Fawcett.

“It is difficult to understate the impact Bella Nelson had on both games, with her skills, toughness and decision-making really standing out,” Orme said.
“Bella was awarded our State 16s MVP award and I’m not surprised that she was prominent in the overall fairest-and-best voting and named captain of the AFLW Under-16s All-Australian Team after being such a strong leader for us alongside Vienna Matera.
“We would also like to congratulate Bea Crane and Keira Fawcett who also had excellent campaigns and deserve their spot in the All-Australian Team.”
