Perth star Isabella Shannon has been rewarded for a dominant ATCO WAFLW season with a second chance in the AFLW.
The former St Kilda midfielder was snapped up by West Coast this week as an injury replacement player.
Shannon impressed in her second season at the Demons, averaging more than 27 disposals and a goal per game as the WAFLW’s newest team came within one win of making their maiden finals campaign.

“Bella has been an extremely consistent performer at WAFLW level over the past two seasons since making the move from Melbourne,” West Coast’s AFLW List and Recruiting Manager Jordan Loxley said.
“She has continued to put herself in the frame through her form and ability to impact games week after week.
“Having previously played AFLW football, Bella brings valuable experience and versatility to our squad.
“Her ability to play multiple roles will provide us with greater flexibility throughout the season and add important depth to our list.”
Shannon, who was already training with the Eagles before the list spot came up, was excited for the opportunity to give the AFLW a second crack.
“Having spent the past two years as a train-on player, I’ve seen firsthand how connected and driven this group is. I’m excited for the opportunity to be part of something really special,” Shannon told the Eagles’ website.
“After balancing work, study and WAFLW footy for several years, I’m excited to fully commit to football, continue building my connections within the group and live out my dream of pulling on the blue and gold.”
Shannon joins Perth teammate Poppy Stockwell (Hawthorn), South Fremantle pair Natasha Entwistle (West Coast), Madi Evans (Brisbane Lions) and Claremont ball magnet Juliet Kelly (Adelaide) in being added to AFLW lists as replacement players this off-season in a massive coup for the WAFLW competition.
