State Talent and Draft"
Claremont player Francis Watson has been added to the final position on the West Coast Eagles list after he was recruited today as a category B rookie through the recently-formed next generation academy system.
The 21-year-old Tigers defender follows East Perth player Tarir Bayok, an explosive midfielder of Sudanese heritage, as a rookie to be listed with West Coast under the new AFL academy system.
Watson, 21, played 10 league games for the Tigers in 2016 and averaged 14.4 disposals playing mostly as a rebounding defender.
He also averaged just over 14 disposals in 12 Reserves games with Claremont, which included their 2016 Premiership win over East Perth.
He was also member of the Deppro WA State 18s Academy in 2014.
