Derby final a highlight in Kirby Bentley Cup

South Fremantle defeated East Fremantle by four points in the inaugural Kirby Bentley Cup at Tom Bateman Reserve in Thornlie on Friday, July 25.

The tournament featured around 150 Aboriginal girls aged 13-17 in 10 teams including sides from Geraldton, the Goldfields and Northam.

The event was well supported by a crowd of over 100 spectators, with South Fremantle eventually winning in the derby Grand Final 3.4 – 22 to 3.0 – 18.
