The Eagles Schoolboys Cup Year 8-9 has been decided with CBC Fremantle and Mater Dei College emerging with Grand Final wins at Mineral Resources Park.
CBC Fremantle claimed a thrilling four-point victory over Comet Bay College in the Eagles Schoolboys Cup – Waalitj Division, 3.6 (18) to 2.2 (14).
Will Martin from CBC Fremantle was given the Ross Davis Medal as best afield while teammate Joel Baker took out the Coaches’ Award for the winning side and Noah Howard was rewarded with the Coaches’ Award for Comet Bay College.
The triumph was CBC Fremantle’s first at the event since 2013, in the process denying Comet Bay College three consecutive Grand Final wins.
The Eagles Schoolboys Cup – Eagle Division resulted in an eight-point win to Mater Dei College over Willetton Senior High School, 2.6(18) to 1.4(10).
The victory was Mater Dei College’s first at the Eagles Schoolboys Cup.
Jax Holbrook was given the Coaches’ Award for Mater Dei College, and Alex Edwards was recognised for his efforts by being winning the Coaches’ Award for Willetton SHS.
Ben Cribbs, School Programs & Competitions Coordinator at the West Australian Football Commission, congratulated the winning teams and everyone who participated.
“The WAFC would also like to thank the West Coast Eagles for their ongoing support,” Cribb said.
“To be part of the competition next year schools can contact their local WAFC Development Staff member prior to the 2025 season.”
