Football Volunteers Offered Free Injury Course

The West Australian Football Commission has partnered with Sports Medicine Australia in offering a free course to any sports trainers who aren’t accredited to learn about treatment and prevention of injuries.

The Level 1 Sports Trainer Courses are open to all football volunteers who assist clubs with injuries and will be a valuable education tool heading into a new season.

Sports Medicine Australia is a peak national multidisciplinary member organisation which provides leadership in the areas of sports exercise and medicine, sports injury, physical activity, sports exercise and science, along with the healthy performance and participation of Australians in physical activity and sport.

SMA is widely regarded internationally as a leading multidisciplinary sports medicine body.

The sessions begin this month and continue until May at 24 locations across the state including:

Broome, Halls Creek, Kununurra, Fitzroy Crossing, Port Hedland, Newman, Tom Price, Karratha, Carnarvon, Geraldton, Dongara, Northam, Narrogin, Merredin, Kalgoorlie, Esperance, Ongerup, Albany, Bunbury, Busselton, Manjimup, Mandurah, Ellenbrook, and Tuart Hill.

The West Australian Football Commission urges volunteers to take up the offer.
