Indigenous and non-Indigenous female football players will come together to play in the Yorga Koodjal Kadadjiny (Women’s Two-Way Learning Match) on Saturday, July 9 as part of NAIDOC Week celebrations.

This year marks the fourth time the West Australian Football Commission will host the special match in partnership with the West Australian Women’s Football League (WAWFL) and Yorga Match Committee.

The Indigenous All-Stars team will go head-to-head with the WAWFL All-Stars team at Lathlain Park after the Perth v Subiaco WAFL game.

The Indigenous All-Stars team was chosen following a series of selection matches and training sessions, while the WAWFL All-Stars team is made up of players nominated by each club of the WAWFL competition.

The event, created by Charlie Headland and Paula Hicks, celebrates the passion and skill of Indigenous female footballers, while also highlighting the reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous female footballers.
