For the first time, the West Australian Football Commission will be delivering the Club Coach Coordinator Course alongside the Level 2 Coach Accreditation Course to over 100 coaches on November 22 and 23 at ECU Joondalup.

The course features an array of presenters from the AFL, WAFL and WA State Coach Academy. The first day will be opened by the Chairman of the AFL Coaches Association, John Worsfold, who will show coaches how to develop a coaching philosophy and trademark.

Darren Harris from culture change and leadership experts, Leading Teams, will take the coaches through how to develop a team and club culture. The course will also feature last year’s WAFL Premiership coach Jarrad Schofield and his coaching team.

The Club Coach Coordinator Course aims to compliment the Australian Football Coaches Association by providing a strong support and education network for coaches through Western Australia. The club coach coordinator component will explore the topics of mentoring, long term athlete development, succession planning and the season review process.

As a result of a partnership between the WAFC and One Life, all coaches will also gain valuable information around mental health and suicide prevention, a key area in player welfare as coaches play such an influential role in their player’s lives.

The opportunity will be made available for coaches who are not completing an accreditation to sit in on lectures as a coaching conference option. To register your interest contact Josh Bowler at jbowler@wafc.com.au
