Connor West and Will Collins will be granted permission by the West Australian Football Commission to play for the West Coast Eagles for the remainder of the 2021 Optus WAFL Premiership Season.

Under rule 9.11 of the WAFL Rules and Regulations, ‘any WAFL player who is drafted during the AFL Mid-Season Draft to the West Coast Eagles will be eligible to play with his WAFL club he was selected from, if he isn’t playing senior AFL football at West Coast’.

With reference to Rule 9.11, the West Coast Eagles, West Perth and Swan District Football Clubs have entered into a separate agreement for the drafted players to play for the West Coast Eagles WAFL team.

Players who are selected in the Mid-Season Rookie Draft that stay in their original State are subject to the following:

– The player has a right to return to the original club to participate in finals if their service is no longer required at their AFL Club.

Both Kalin Lane and Matthew Parker will join their respective AFL clubs over the coming days.
