Zac Mesiti was the toast of Mt Lawley-Inglewood Roos Football Club after winning the inaugural Mighty Moments competition.
The Roos’ Year 10 high-flier won $1000 from WA Football and a training session with West Coast Eagles defender Tylah Young and small forward Matt Owies this week at Hammer Park after his stunning hanger was judged to be the mightiest moment of a whopping 177 entries across the State.
“The ball was coming down the line and I heard a few of the boys telling me to jump for it and I thought ‘what have I got to lose?’ so I jumped up, sat on his back and took the mark,” Zac recalled on Channel 7 after being announced as the winner.
“Next thing I knew, everyone was going crazy.”

Zac said he had a friend to thank for capturing the moment while testing his phone camera out on the sidelines.
“That was just luck, a few of the boys said he was just happening to test out his phone quality,” he revealed.
The competition was run to showcase not only marks like this, but WA leading the way in community football.
