The WAWFL Season kicks off this Sunday

To kick start an exciting season Dianella Open Space hosts the Grand Final Rematch between back to back League Premiers Swan Districts and the 6 time League Premiers Coastal Titans.

The League game will bouncedown at 2pm, following the Reserves game at 12pm making for an impressive day of football.

2015 will see the teams battle head-to-head three times in the home-and-away fixtures, including a twilight game on Saturday 16th May at Medibank Stadium following the Subiaco v Swan Districts WAFL League game.

Round 1

Sunday April 12

Coastal Titans v Swan Districts; Reserves 12:00pm and League 2:00pm at Dianella Open Space.

South Fremantle v East Fremantle; Reserves 12:00pm and League 2:00pm at Anning Park.

Peel Thunderbirds v Joondalup Falcons; Reserves 12:00pm at Bendigo Bank Stadium.

Mt Lawley v Perth Angels; Reserves 12:00pm at Hamer Park.

Reserves Bye Claremont Piranhas, League Bye Peel Thunderbirds.

Female Football Coordinator; Allana Dickie is excited for the year ahead, “This year we have the most WAWFL League Games being played following WAFL Matches that we ever have done in the past, which provides an opportunity showcase Female Football to a broader audience and continue to strengthen the partnerships between the WAWFL and WAFL Clubs.” This includes a game being played on Fremantle Oval which is extremely exciting for the South Fremantle Women’s to have the opportunity to host a home game at the WAFL Club.

The Derby between East Fremantle and South Fremantle will be played as a Curtain Raiser on the 16th May at Domain Stadium, which will be a highlight for many girls being able to play at the stadium for the first time.

April 18 | 5:15pm | South Fremantle v Coastal Titans | Fremantle Oval

April 26 | 5:15pm | Peel Thunderbirds v South Fremantle | Bendigo Bank Stadium

May 16 | 2:40pm | East Fremantle v South Fremantle | Domain Stadium (Curtain Raiser)

May 16 | 5:15pm | Coastal Titans v Swan Districts | Medibank Stadium

July 19 | 5:15pm | East Fremantle v South Fremantle | Atom Stadium

In addition to this Mt Lawley Women’s FC are set to play at least one fixture out of Medibank Stadium on a Friday night, along with SNESA Angels forming an alignment with Perth FC and playing out of Lathlain Park as the Perth Angels.

WAFC Rogers Cup Youth Girls Competition starts next weekend 19th April.
