WA Football Launches Social Non-Contact Competition for Women

The WA Football Commission is pleased to announce the official launch of the Female Only AFL 9’s Competition based at Curtin University on South Oval.

AFL 9’s is a 9 a side social and non-contact competition played on a smaller field similar size and set up to a netball court. With an appealing model being able to turn up and play in a fun and safe environment, played over two twenty minute halves and with no training commitments this competition is expected to explode!

“This competition is perfect for University students, mums or any women balancing multiple commitments who want to try something different, learn how to play football and make some new friends.” WA Female Football Coordinator Allana Dickie said.

Curtin University wanted to engage more female students and international students into social sports and have partnered with the WA Football Commission to provide a competition to suit the needs of a University student; a cheap competition with only small time commitment required.

“This is perfect it’s a great way for students to make new friends on campus, an opportunity to try something different and for our international students they can get a real taste of our culture before they return home.” said Zoe Bell Curtin University Social Sports Coordinator.

Competition Details:

  • 6 week competition every Wednesday 6pm @ South Oval
  • Competition starts Wednesday 27th April 5:30pm for skills & Rules
  • One off payment of $20 required, covers insurance for 6 weeks

Anyone is welcome so bring your friends down, no skill or experience required!
