WA Football Volunteer of the Year Winners and Finalists Announced

WA Football congratulates the 17 district and regional finalists in the WA Football Volunteer of the Year Award and eight category winners.

The 2025 district and regional finalists from across the state are:

Claremont District – Ryan Lloyd, North Beach JFC

East Fremantle District – Nikki Hevron, East Fremantle JFC

East Perth District – Michael Bassett, Ballajura JFC

Goldfields Region – Kara Murphy, Newton-Condingup FC

Great Southern Region – Brad Harvey, Railways FC

Kimberley Region – Tim Brooker, West Kimberley JFL

Midlands Region – Greg Jones, York FC

Midwest Region – Grant Russell, Railway FC

Peel District – Darren Birch, Waroona JFC

Perth District – Michelle Kinsman, Vic Park JFC

Pilbara Region – Roxie Kleine-Deters, Newman JFC

South Fremantle District – Samantha Saffioti, Roleystone JFC

South West Region – Natalie Fimmano, Harvey FC

Subiaco District – Paul Valentino, Carine JFC

Swan Districts – Anthony Jerkovich, Bassendean JFC

West Perth District – Danielle Borrie, Wanneroo JFC

Wheatbelt Region – Kenny Quartermaine, Katanning FC

The 2025 WA Football volunteer of the Year winner will be announced at the WAFL Grand Final in September.

We also congratulate WA Football Volunteer winners in the following categories:

AFL School Teacher – Scott Faulkner, Court Grammar School

Community Club Coach, Female – Katherine Dann, Cable Beach FSC

Community Club Coach, Male – Brett von Bergheim, Whitford JFC

Community Club of the Year – Donnybrook FC

Community Umpire Service – Michael Kaufman, Perth Football League

Disability Inclusion Ambassador – Dan Hilton, Ellenbrook JFC

NAB AFL Auskick Volunteer – Rachel Kemp, Kingsley JFC

Young Volunteer of the Year – Josh Kirk, Wagin FC

All of these winners, along with the winner of WA Football Volunteer of the Year, have been entered into the National AFL Volunteer Awards.

There were over 2,200 nominations recognising the State’s football volunteers.

The WA Football Volunteer of the Year is one of the most highly valued awards in the football industry, an initiative adopted nationally.

The program recognises the dedication and tireless efforts of our football volunteers from club presidents to registrars, coaches to trainers, these volunteers are the lifeblood of football in this state.

They ensure that football games can be played in every corner of Western Australia, making it possible for aspiring players and enthusiastic fans to experience the joy of our great game.

WA Football Club Development and Volunteer Specialist, Jenné Emberson, congratulated the all nominees, finalists and winners who have made invaluable contributions to football.

“The WA Football Volunteer of the Year Award is an exceptional opportunity to honour and celebrate the invaluable contributions of our volunteers,” Emberson said.

“Once again we were thrilled to receive so many nominations from right across the state which highlight the value of volunteers within football.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all volunteers for their contribution to ensuring that football continues to thrive.”

The 2025 WA Football Volunteer of the Year will be announced at the WAFL Grand Final on Sunday 21 September.
