State Talent and Draft"
Three WA players will participate in the 2018 NAB AFL Women’s Draft Combine at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne this Tuesday and Wednesday.
Sabreena Duffy, pictured, has been invited to the National Combine following her outstanding performance as skipper for WA at the NAB AFL Women’s National 18s Championships. Duffy was also named WA MVP of the Championships and selected for the AFLW All-Australians 18s team.
WA Mundella AFL Women’s State players McKenzie Dowrick and Jasmin Stewart were also invited.
The Draft Combine will assess the players’ fitness and skills ahead of the NAB AFL Women’s Draft which will be held on October 23. Clubs will also have the opportunity to interview the players.
AFL Head of Women’s Football Nicole Livingstone said the players have been nominated from every state and territory.
“After the high standard of matches at the recent NAB AFLW Under-18 Championships on the Gold Coast, the best 36 under-age players throughout Australia will be in Melbourne to test,” she said.
