The New Holland WA Country Football League State Team has been announced to travel to South Australia to take on the South Australian Community Football League this Saturday, July 26.

The following players have been selected to represent the WACFL:

Luke Bairstow – Lake Grace/ Pingrup (Ongerup)

William Barnes- Eaton Boomers (South West)

John Bennell – Halls Head (Peel)

William Brown – Jerramungup (Ongerup)

Jayden Brooks – Jerramungup (Ongerup)

Matthew Burley – Coorow/Latham (North Midlands)

Brody Culpitt – Halls Head (Peel)

Luke Fields – Narrogin Hawks (Upper Great Southern)

Matthew Giumelli – Boddington (Upper Great Southern)

Alex James – Hyden/Karlgarin (Eastern Districts)

Jarrad Martin – Williams (Upper Great Southern)

Daniel McGinlay – Busselton (South West)

Simon Parry – Donnybrook (South West)

Marc Re – Bunbury (South West)

Matthew Scott – Boulder City (Goldfields)

Troy Skilton – Cunderdin (Avon)

Alistair Smith – Federals (Avon)

Jeffrey Smith – Donnybrook (South West)

Leith Teakle – Brigades (Great Northern)

Teke Vernon – Williams (Upper Great Southern)

Dale Wallam – Mullewa (Great Northern)

Dale Williamson – Brigades (Great Northern)

State Assistant Coach and selector Shane Darmody said he was confident the selectors had put together a strong side for the interstate match-up, which was finalised at the conclusion of the Landmark Country Football Championships.

“All players selected were really enthusiastic about the game and proud to be representing their state,” he said.

“We owe South Australia a couple, so the boys are looking forward to getting over there and giving it a crack.”

The WACFL v SACFL game will be played as a curtain raiser to the Port Adelaide vs Adelaide SANFL match on July 26 at Alberton Oval in Adelaide. Bounce down is 11:15am local time.
