The WAFC have had a number of recent events within our Multicultural programs over the last few months. The six week Meekatharra Football Program was well received at the Meekatharra District High School. The participating students were rewarded for increased school attendance with free footballs so they can continue to play our beautiful game with their peers.

The EID Cup was held in recognition of the end of Ramadan. The Cup was open to Years 4 – 7 from five Islamic Schools across Perth with this year seeing over 150 male and female participants.

The WAFC also saw a West Australian team participate in the nine a side Inaugural National Female KickStart Championship. The WA team of nine metro and three regionally based Aboriginal girls went on to gain a 4th place finish at the competition in Melbourne this year. Besides the success of a fourth place finish we also had five WA girls selected into the national squad playing for the Flying Boomerangs and they will compete in the 2014 State Championships.
