WA Football
This year the West Australian Football Commission undertook a review of the Youth Football structures within the state, with the aim of developing strategies to further engage and retain participants aged 13 to 17 years at football clubs.
Based on research, consultation and survey feedback, a number of recommendations were developed for inclusion in a Youth Football Working Group Report, which can be downloaded here. Some of these recommendations will be implemented in 2018.
A key component of this review is to get an ongoing understanding of the people who drive our game at grass roots level, including the players, parents and coaches.
Your Role
Fill out the survey and provide honest feedback. Pass this link and document on to all your contacts at your junior club. The more people who complete the survey, the greater understanding we have of our game.
Who fills out the survey?
• Players (Year 8 –Year 12)
• Parents of players (All Ages)
• All coaches
The Purpose
This survey will help us get a clear picture of:
• Who plays our game and why they play it
• The satisfaction levels of football in its current structure
• The way club environment influence youth participation
• The impact coaches have on participation
Feedback
The data collated will continue to shape the WAFC Youth Football participation strategy, which is aimed at achieving growth in youth community club football, improving player retention and increasing the interaction of school football with community competitions for participants 13 to 17 years of age in WA
