Historically, rule changes implemented by the AFL have been adopted in the WAFL competition following a period of review and assessment.
In line with this approach, the West Australian Football Commission’s Football Affairs Committee will review the rule changes announced by the AFL and assess how these may be applied to the WAFL competition as early as 2019.
The WAFC will work closely with the AFL and WAFL Clubs regarding the implementation of these rule changes and interpretations to create as much synergy as possible between the State and National competitions.
