WAFL Match Review – Round 9

The WAFL Match Review Panel has assessed the following incidents from Round 9 of the Optus WAFL League competition;

1. Morgan Davies (East Fremantle) was reported for striking Haiden Schloithe (South Fremantle) during the Round 9 fixture between East Fremantle and South Fremantle at New Choice Homes Park on Monday, June 7.

In summary, the above mentioned can accept a reprimand with an early guilty plea.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact. Under the table of penalties the offence was classified as a one (1) match sanction. An early guilty plea enables the player to reduce the penalty to a reprimand.

2. Samuel Stubbs (Perth) was cited for striking Angus Dewar (Subiaco) during the Round 9 fixture between Perth and Subiaco at Mineral Resources Park on Thursday, June 3.

In summary, the above mentioned can accept a reprimand with an early guilty plea.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact. Under the table of penalties the offence was classified as a one (1) match sanction. An early guilty plea enables the player to reduce the penalty to a reprimand.

3. Brock Higgins (South Fremantle) was cited for making unreasonable contact to an injured player, Luke Strnadica (East Fremantle), during the Round 9 fixture between East Fremantle and South Fremantle at New Choice Homes Park on Monday, June 7.

In summary, the above mentioned can accept a reprimand with an early guilty plea.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was classified as a low-level offence resulting in a reprimand.

4. Melee (Perth v Subiaco)
The following players have been charged with engaging in a melee during the Round 9 fixture at Mineral Resources Park on Thursday, June 3.

Perth – Brant Colledge, Simon Hayward, Sam Stubbs, Brodie Gray
Subiaco – Leigh Kitchin, Koby Fullgrabe, Harrison Marsh, Greg Clark

In summary, based on the available video evidence the Match Review Panel concluded that each player had committed a low level offence.
