WA Football advises that East Perth player Scott Jones’ three-game suspension has been upheld by the WAFL Tribunal Appeals Panel this evening.

Jones was reported for rough conduct after an incident in the opening term of the Royals’ two-point Sullivan Logistics WAFL First Semi-Final victory over Perth at Mineral Resources Park on Saturday, with the WAFL Match Review Panel sending it straight to the WAFL Tribunal.

The incident was graded as careless conduct, high impact and high contact.

East Perth Football Club appealed the decision but were unsuccessful in overturning the ban, with the appeal refused by the WAFL Tribunal Appeals Panel.

It means Jones will miss Sunday’s blockbuster Preliminary Final against Claremont at Revo Fitness Stadium and the Grand Final at Optus Stadium on Sunday, September 20, should the Royals make it.

Both the Tigers and Royals sides will be revealed on Friday evening.
