WA Football advises that East Perth player Scott Jones has been suspended for three matches following an incident in Saturday’s Sullivan Logistics WAFL WAFL First Semi-Final clash against Perth at Mineral Resources Park.
Jones was reported for rough conduct after an incident in the opening term of the Royals’ two-point victory, with the WAFL Match Review Panel sending it straight to the WAFL Tribunal.
The incident was graded as careless conduct, high impact and high contact by the WAFL Tribunal on Tuesday evening.
It means Jones will miss Sunday’s blockbuster Preliminary Final against Claremont at Revo Fitness Stadium and the Grand Final at Optus Stadium on Sunday, September 20, should the Royals make it.
The winner of Sunday’s clash goes up against minor premiers Peel Thunder in the decider.
East Perth Football Club has until 5pm WST on Wednesday to lodge an appeal.
