The West Australian Football Commission hosted the annual Youth Girls Super Sunday at Steel Blue Oval in Bassendean on Sunday August, 16. It was a day filled with fun, entertainment and a host of extra activities – Super Sunday epitomised what Youth Girls is all about.

With the live telecast of the Women’s AFL Exhibition Match on the big screen in the morning, the spotlight then shifted to the next generation of female footballers.

To wrap up the Home and Away season, the final round of matches were scheduled back to back and the event showcased the vast array of talent and team camaraderie within the Youth Girls Competition.

With over 600 coming through the gates during the day, WAFC Female Ambassadors were kept busy coordinating the inflatable activities, taking photos, giving out their personal player cards and even signing autographs.

WAFC Female Football Coordinator Allana Dickie said she was pleased with the Ambassadors first appearance.

“The girls played a vital role to the success of the event, we were very pleased with the way they conducted themselves throughout the day.”

The chance to play with friends in a safe and fun environment, with outstanding role models from the Senior Clubs makes playing Youth Girls an attractive offer to stay active, make new friends and most of all have fun.
