Subiaco, Claremont and West Perth Districts launched the Northern Conference Junior Competition last Wednesday, March 12 at a function held at the Subiaco Football Club clubrooms.
Attended by representatives from each club from the respective district, the launch included presentation of the latest WAFC “Grow the Game’ promotional DVD, outline of the season and leadership and team building activities with Neil Arnold from the Subiaco FC.
The cross district arrangement has continued to develop over the past few years. Initially set up with Claremont and Subiaco from year 8 to year 12, West Perth was initially introduced at the Year 12 age group and have increased their participation with engagement in the Year 10 and 11 age groups in the last two years.
Due to the success of those age groups the three district’s made the decision to implement across all youth age groups.
Now referred to as the Northern Conference, the competition will only result in positive benefits for the development of Youth football.
A total of 12 separate competitions will be played across all age groups with between eight to 10 teams in each competition. This structure will provide players the experience of playing various teams in even competitions which will be created by separate divisions in each age group.
