Revo wrap up: Record-breaking WA Football Juniors season ends in style

The record-breaking WA Football Juniors season concluded in spectacular fashion, with 76 Grand Finals played across the September 4-6 at 13 venues throughout the Central, North, South, and Peel regions.
Thousands of players, coaches, volunteers, families, and supporters came together to celebrate the culmination of another outstanding junior football season, with premierships decided across Year 7 to Year 12 competitions.
The 2026 season once again highlighted the incredible strength of community football across Western Australia.
More than 1,380 teams from 103 clubs participated in WA Football Juniors competitions this year.
WA Football Juniors continues to provide opportunities for young people to play, develop and enjoy our game in positive and inclusive environments.
“This season saw record participation numbers from Auskick to Year 12 with more than 44,000 participants involved, making WA Football Juniors the largest single football competition in Australia,” WA Football’s Executive Manager Participation and Program Strategy Chris Bandy said.
“The scale of this competition is immense and we are constantly looking at ways to grow and improve and will continue with this aspiration into 2027 and beyond.”
WA Football also acknowledges the significant contribution of all of the club-based volunteers and our Regional Development Councils, whose work behind the scenes supports clubs, competitions and participants across metropolitan Perth and Peel.
A special thank you goes to the 1000-plus umpires who officiated throughout the season.
Their commitment, professionalism, and willingness to take the field each week ensures that junior football can continue to thrive. Without umpires, there is no game.
We also look forward to recognising our 2026 premiership teams at the Sullivan Logistics WAFL Grand Final this Sunday, where they will proudly take part in the annual Grand Final Parade.
This special tradition celebrates the achievements of junior footballers from across Western Australia and provides an opportunity to showcase their success on one of the state’s biggest football stages.
