QR National Freight provides terrific support to country players via the WA Country Football League.

This is the 5th Year that QR National Freight has provided their support to the State Program through this partnership, QR National Freight has provided financial assistance to players from regional areas in WA who are selected into the State 16 and 18 teams, and to the AFL draftees. To date they have provided $120,000 in support.

QR National Freight awarded country footballers inducted into the WA State 16 Academy a cheque for $750. The State 18 inductees will receive $500 with an additional $500 going to their club of origin. This year the presentation was made by Tim Collins, General Manager Agribusiness for QR National Freight. Tim was joined by Claire Blatchford, Senior Stakeholder Advisor, at the State Academy Induction Night at Patersons Stadium.

If country players are fortunate enough to be drafted to the AFL later this year, a further $2,000 will be awarded to the player’s club of origin to assist in the development of future AFL stars.
