WA Football is proud to welcome ATCO as the naming rights partner of the Western Australian Football League Women’s (WAFLW) competition ahead of the new season this month.

Heading into its 39th season, the State’s premier women’s football competition will now be known as the ATCO WAFLW, marking a historic milestone in the continued growth and evolution of women’s football in WA.

The partnership represents one of the most significant commercial agreements in the history of women’s State League football in Western Australia and highlights the increasing profile and commercial strength of the WAFLW competition.

ATCO has been operating in Australia for more than 60 years, focused on delivering safe, reliable and affordable energy to Western Australian customers and providing a diverse range of energy, infrastructure and modular housing services across the country.

ATCO’s branding will be proudly displayed on the playing uniforms of each of the nine WAFLW teams for at least the next three seasons.

Another exciting feature of the partnership will see ATCO shine a light on inspirational women throughout the WAFLW competition through a special content series.

There will also be a weekly focus on ATCO WAFLW ‘Energy Leaders’, highlighting standout players from each round.

WA Football Interim CEO Peter Bell said the partnership represented an important step forward for women’s football in Western Australia.

“It’s a significant moment for the WAFLW and women’s football in our State to welcome ATCO as the competition’s naming rights partner,” Bell said.

“Women’s football in WA continues to go from strength to strength and this partnership represents another important milestone in the continued growth of the game and the increasing commercial strength of our competition.

“We’re delighted to have ATCO support women and girls football as we continue to grow as a competition on the back of a ninth team being introduced last season and record AFLW Draft numbers from WA since the inaugural draft in 2016, including our first ever No.1 draft pick in Subiaco’s Olivia Wolmarans.”

“ATCO is proud to be supporting the highest tier of women’s football to be played in Western Australia,” ATCO Australia CEO John Ivulich added.

“We are thrilled to put our support behind a competition that champions inclusion and showcases the fantastic talent of established and emerging female footballers.

“Football plays an important role in our community and is loved by so many Western Australians.

“We’re honoured to be part of encouraging the continued growth of this fantastic game and supporting pathways for women and girls to play professional football.”

The multi-year naming rights partnership was brokered by leading Perth based sports marketing agency, Playbookx.
