A talent-laden East Fremantle have completed an undefeated CTF WAFL Futures campaign to comfortably finish atop the ladder.

The Sharks, which had a dozen players selected in the AAMI WA Football State 16s Boys Squad on the back of their dominant season, finished with an unblemished 7-0 record.

They made it seven from seven with a 104-point win over East Perth at Sullivan Logistics Stadium on Saturday with Kingston McClure kicking seven goals, Tom De Jong chipping in with five and Owen Hodge and Josh Waite also standing out.

Exciting forward Jayke Taylor was one of the stars of the show, booting 17 majors for the season including a best of seven in the opening round against West Perth and 14 in the first three games.

Troy Warner, the younger brother of Sydney Swans pair Chad and Corey, was also among the Sharks’ best and most consistent players.

Taylor and Warner, who both played in the AFL National Under-16s Championship last year as bottom-agers, made the State 16s squad once again alongside East Fremantle teammates Aiden Martignago, Aiden Wilson, Clancy Gaspar, Jack Holland, Jayden Makanza, Josh Waite, Naka Herwanto, Hodge, Raf McRae and Tom De Jong.

East Fremantle Futures coach Luke Wilson was proud of his team’s commitment and work ethic across the season.

“From day one, the focus was on developing not just footballers, but teammates who understood the standards, habits, and mindset required in a high-performance environment,” Wilson reflected.

“Across the program, the growth in this group was clear with players embracing the expectations, showing strong training habits, and taking ownership of their development.

“A key pillar was building our brand. A style of footy driven by defensive intent, connection, and purposeful ball movement. As the weeks progressed, this identity came to life.

“The group showed an ability to set the ground up, apply pressure, and move the ball with clarity and cohesion, producing consistent performances.

“While development remained the priority, the results reflected the group’s commitment.”
