Another day, another WA comeback against Vic Country.

One day after the AAMI WA Football State 18s Boys produced a comeback from the ages against Vic Country in Melbourne, the State 18s Girls have followed suit for their first win of the AFLW National Under-18s Championship.

The Black Swans stormed home from 17 points down at three-quarter time against Vic Country to prevail by seven in an epic victory at Kennedy Community Centre.

WA remarkably kicked four goals to none in a final-quarter assault.

After showing some positive signs against Vic Metro in their second game, the WA girls took another significant step forward for a well-deserved win full of heart and determination.

Highly-rated 15-year-old Subiaco talent Caitlin Boss sealed the deal late in the final term of a memorable win after WA trailed by as much as 19 points.

Boss showed she will be one to watch in coming years, with her lively display including 13 disposals and four tackles.

Claremont’s Hannah Seaborn and Perth’s Niah Catto were both important contributors in attack, finishing with two goals apiece.

Seaborn’s defensive work was also outstanding, laying a game-high 11 tackles.

West Perth gun Lexi Strachan led the way in the midfield with a team-high 19 disposals to go with a whopping nine clearances.

Her Falcons teammate Cara Dziegielewski continued her strong carnival in the ruck as she firms for WA’s MVP award, finishing with 16 disposals and 26 hit-outs.

Swan Districts talent Summer Ajduk (16 disposals and three tackles) made the most of her inclusion in the side, while Subiaco forward Marley Kelman (14 disposals and four tackles) and East Perth ball magnet Charli Bassett (14, six tackles and a goal) continued their impressive form.
