WA Football would like to thank Phil Lamb for his six years of service on the WA Football Board.
The long-serving WA Football Board member has decided not to re-nominate for this year’s election process.
Lamb has been involved in WA football 48 years, including as a player of 227 WAFL league games for Subiaco Football Club, and being vice-captain of the Lions’ 1986 Premiership.
He was also a selector at WAFL club and interstate level and was a member of, and for some time, Chair of the WAFL Match Review Panel for 14 years.
He was first elected to the WA Football Board back in 2021 for his first of two three-year tenures.
WA Football Chair Ian Callahan paid tribute to the contribution of Lamb.
“Phil has an extraordinary background and network across multiple levels of football and has brought that experience and knowledge to his role for six years as a Commissioner for WA Football,” Callahan said.
“While Phil is stepping down from his Commissioner’s role, we are working with him to continue his long history of supporting football in WA through other roles in WA Football.”
“We would like to thank him for his dedication to the role, in particular his work as Chair of Football Affairs, Heritage and as part of the WA Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee.”
