The West Australian Football Commission thanks Marc Webb for his contribution to coaching across all levels of football in Western Australia, and the development of WA’s most talented young players as part of the Simply Energy State U19’s State Talent Program where he was head coach.

Webb departs after 12 months as the Head of Coaching and Coach of the Under 19s State program where he has played a major part in the development of talented players within the pathway.

Webb will be departing the WAFC and move to Melbourne to take up a role with 2021 AFL Grand Finalists the Western Bulldogs as an Assistant Coach.

WAFC Executive Manager- WAFL & Talent, Scott Baker said Webb had made a profound impact on football in Western Australia, providing great leadership, credibility, and commitment to the development of coaches right across the state as well as the developing the state’s next crop of stars.

“Webb has made a fantastic contribution to the Talent Academy over the past season, providing great support and leadership to its players, coaches, support staff and volunteers throughout his tenure,” Baker said.

“We would like to congratulate Marc on his new role heading back into the AFL system with the Bulldogs. Marc will be missed as he has created a positive environment to get the best out of his team and each individual player.”

“Not only has Marc lead the State Academy U19’s program, but he has also played a critical role in the accreditation, development, and education of coaches right through community football.

“On behalf of everyone involved at the West Australian Football Commission I thank Marc for the vital role he has played throughout 2021.”

Webb said, “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the WAFC, and I can’t speak highly enough of the staff within the Talent Programs and right across the whole WAFC.”

“It has been extremely rewarding giving back to WA footy and passing on my knowledge and experience to coaches and players.”

The West Australian Football Commission will now begin the recruitment process for a new Head of Coaching.
