The annual WAFC Footy Writing Competition was held in Term One and sparked tremendous interest in schools across Western Australia.

Students were set the task of writing a narrative using an opening paragraph that included a football stimulus.

The competition was open to all students from Year Three to Six with a judging panel selecting winners for each year level.

Each of the winning students received a prize pack from Burley Sekem and also earned their school a range of prizes.

WAFC Schools Specialist David Lindsay was impressed with the quality of the entries.

“It was fantastic to see the interest in the competition this year and the judges were very impressed with the students’ creativity.” Lindsay said.
