THERE is a new team sitting on top of the WAFLW ladder with East Fremantle making it seven straight wins to occupy that position after West Perth handed Claremont a second defeat of 2024.

With a month now remaining of the 2024 home and away season in the WAFLW competition, things heated up in dramatic fashion with all four games on Saturday with East Fremantle moving to top spot, West Perth closing in on second, and now only one game separating the next three teams battling over fourth place.

All four matches took place on Saturday afternoon with West Perth beating Claremont for the first ever time in the WAFLW with a big finish to prevail 6.6 (42) to 6.4 (40) at Revo Fitness Stadium with three goals from Imahra Cameron.

Subiaco then made it consecutive wins to remain right in the finals hunt with the 10.10 (70) to 1.4 (10) victory against Sullivan Logistics Stadium co-tenants East Perth with Kate Pocsidio kicking three goals.

Fourth position then went on the line between Swan Districts and South Fremantle at Steel Blue Oval and it was the black-and-whites beating the Bulldogs 8.8 (56) to 7.3 (45) with four goals from Emily McGuire.

Last up and it was reigning premiers East Fremantle making it seven straight wins to improve to 9-1 and to top spot with the 16.9 (105) to 0.0 (0) win against Peel Thunder with Tiani Teakle kicking four goals and Alicia Blizard three while Zippy Fish racked up another 29 possessions.
