We take a look at the players to watch in Round 11 of the WAFL season, headlined by 100-gamer Hamish Brayshaw.
Will Brodie (Peel Thunder)
The Fremantle-listed midfielder is putting together another consistent season in Peel’s engine-room but hasn’t been able to break into the AFL side.
Brodie is a clearance machine and finds so much of the footy, with three 30-plus disposal performances in his last four outings including 34, 11 clearances and eight tackles against West Coast on Saturday.
Average disposals: 26.9
Jake Florenca (South Fremantle)
Florenca has formed a dominant one-two midfield punch with former Richmond and St Kilda player Matthew Parker.
The classy on-baller hasn’t had much luck on the injury front in recent seasons but is showing what he can do when he’s fit and injury-free.
Not only can Florenca win plenty of the footy, he’s also proven to hit the scoreboard regularly.
Average disposals: 25
Tom Joyce (East Fremantle)
Another player who’s had his fair share of injuries, Joyce has been getting a good run of it this season and making the most of his opportunities.
The former Brisbane and West Coast-listed player is averaging 24 disposals in nine games this season and adds another dimension to the star-studded Sharks midfield.
Average disposals: 24
Bryce Watson (Swan Districts)
The smooth-moving half-back has been a shining light for the injury-hit Swan Districts in 2025.
The 22-year-old has the ability to break lines with his pace and is lethal by foot.
Watson is coming off one of his best games of the season, finishing with 22 disposals, eight marks and five rebound 50s in the narrow loss to Perth last round.
Average disposals: 16.7
Ben Elliott (Claremont)
The big-bodied midfielder has taken his game to another level this season for the Tigers.
He’s somewhat of an unsung hero among a star-studded Claremont midfield brigade which includes a trio of Sandover medallists in Jye Bolton, Bailey Rogers and Callan England.
Elliott is as tough as nails, is strong defensively and regularly kicks goals.
His past two weeks have been outstanding, averaging 24.5 disposals, six tackles and a goal.
Average disposals: 20.6
Joe Hinder (West Perth)
The West Perth premiership speedster was rewarded for his consistent campaign with State selection earlier in the season and showed he can match it with the best.
Hinder is one of the quickest players in the competition and makes his possessions count.
He’s also a regular goal-kicker with 12 majors in nine games including a best of three against West Coast in Round 7.
Average disposals: 15.7
Hamish Brayshaw (East Perth)
The East Perth co-captain is celebrating his 100th WAFL appearance in the battle of the Sullivan Logistics Stadium co-tenants on Saturday evening.
The 2023 Sandover Medal winner returned from a minor leg injury in last weekend’s loss to South Fremantle and was among his team’s best with 26 disposals, 13 clearances and 10 marks.
Brayshaw will be desperate to celebrate his milestone with an important victory for the Royals.
Average disposals: 24.6
Michael Braut (Subiaco)
The Subiaco man mountain has been an important addition in recent weeks since returning from a calf injury.
Braut has helped shore up the Lions’ defence and makes them a much more competitive outfit when he’s on the park.
He will have another big job this weekend against a Royals forward-line with plenty of weapons.
Average disposals: 14.3
