State Talent and Draft
The AAMI WA Football State 18s Boys Summer Squad has been named, featuring WA’s top AFL Draft prospects.
Reigning EGT Colts Premiers East Fremantle is the best-represented club with 12 players, followed by Claremont with nine.
All nine WAFL clubs are represented, while there are four players from the regions, six First Nations products and four Multicultural athletes in the 47-player intake.
WA Football State Talent Manager Adam Jones couldn’t speak more highly of the group.

“I’m really excited with the squad assembled and it’s probably two of the most talented age groups that I have had in my time in this role and there are some really unlucky players who have missed out,” Jones said.
The results produced by East Fremantle earned special recognition.
“Their year was exceptional with their Futures team by far the best single team we’ve had come into the program and to win a Colts flag this year was an indication of how dominant the club could be in the next couple of years,” he said.
Six players recently featured in the annual AFL Futures clash in Melbourne against the best 2026 AFL Draft prospects across the country.
WA’s success at the Marsh Under-16 National Championships produced four All-Australians.
Troy Warner, who also won the Kevin Sheehan Medal as the carnival’s best player, was joined by Jack Holland, Aiden Martignago and Jayke Taylor as All-Australians who are all in the Summer Squad.

Jones believes a couple of other players will also attract attention.
“James Artemis is highly regarded and is unlucky not to have been selected by the Tasmania Devils,” Jones said.
“Taj Allan from Bunbury is another player to watch out for despite not playing a lot of football this year.”
Claremont’s Lachlan Sheldrick, brother of Angus who plays for the Sydney Swans and Oliver who is also a Tigers player, is another notable name selected.
There are two players with eligible for father-son selections.
East Perth’s Eli Wirrpanda whose dad David won a premiership with the West Coast Eagles in 2006, while Perth’s Will Jones hopes to follow in the footsteps of his father Rowan who also played in West Coast’s 2006 flag.
