Gun Perth midfielder Brandan Parfitt has won an early premiership to kickstart his 2026 Sullivan Logistics WAFL campaign, leading his junior club Nightcliff to a Northern Territory Football League grand final victory alongside a highly-rated Peel Thunder recruit.
Parfitt won the Chaney Medal as best on ground in the Tigers’ dominant win over St Mary’s at Darwin’s TIO Stadium on Saturday night, racking up 27 disposals, seven tackles, seven inside 50s and five clearances.
Thunder recruit and former Collingwood VFL player Lachlan Tardrew was also among the Chaney Medal votes for his impressive display, amassing 25 disposals, six clearances, five tackles and a goal as Nightcliff prevailed by 72 points – 13.14 (92) to 2.8 (20).

Tardrew is expected to be rest for this weekend’s WAFL pre-season clash against Claremont at Revo Fitness Stadium on Saturday before making his Peel debut the following week against West Coast at Mineral Resources Park on Saturday, March 28.
Ryan Nyhuis (19 disposals and 11 intercept possessions) , a two-time WAFL premiership player with Peel Thunder and former Fremantle and Claremont swingman, and ex-Perth Demons forward Zac Derksen (four goals) were also among Nightcliff’s best.
Returning West Perth midfielder Connor West, South Fremantle premiership defender Ben Rioli and ex-Claremont forward Nicholas Yarran featured for St Mary’s.
