Dual AFLW All-Australian Dana Hooker is among the ins for Round 9 of ATCO WAFLW action.
The former Fremantle and West Coast fairest-and-best winner has been named for Subiaco’s Friday night clash with ladder leaders Swan Districts at Sullivan Logistics Stadium.
Hooker last featured in the WAFLW in Round 4 and 5 last season, averaging 25 disposals, seven marks and five tackles during a dominant fortnight.
She will add further firepower to the Lions’ outfit, already possessing Dhara Kerr Medal winner Krstel Petrevski and fellow midfield stars Paige Sheppard and Lisa Steane, and is expected to play multiple matches throughout the season when available.
Sheppard is also among the inclusions against last season’s grand finallists.
It’s one of two Friday night WAFLW clashes this weekend with the Fremantle Derby happening between East Fremantle and South Fremantle at The Good Grocer Park.
Former East Fremantle premiership captain Ash Gomes won’t get to face her former side in a big loss for the Bulldogs, however Lucy Gilchrist is a welcome inclusion.
Young guns Kai Clucas, Lana Fitzgerald and Cienna Leslie, who was this week named in the AAMI WA Football State 18s Girls squad, have all been recalled for the Sharks.
Both Friday night games will be streamed live and exclusive on the WAFL Official YouTube channel.
