The first ever National AFL Female KickStart Championships will take place in Melbourne from September 9 to 13.
This an opportunity for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander females to experience a National Program provided they have not been a representative of an AFL State Team previously (SSWA State 16 Schoolgirls, AFL Youth Girls Nationals, AFL Open Women’s Nationals).
This targets girls aged between 13-17 years with the aim of getting them into the football system through the female talent pathway and seeing them continue on to play at community level if they aren’t already.
If you know anyone eligible please encourage them to register their interest.

The Kickstart Championships will also provide an opportunity for aspiring coaches with a Head Coach and Assistant Coach role available. Applications for both are open now:

The Championships will feature 7 teams from across Australia; WA, QLD, NSW/ACT, VIC, NT, SA and TAS and games will played in an AFL 9’s format with 2×15 min halves.
