The Department of Sport & Recreation in conjunction with the WA Sports Federation are running a club development workshop on creating safe clubs for kids.
It is recommended that all junior clubs attend as it is an important and occasionally looked over area of junior club operations.
In addition to being a valuable club tool, the session will count towards a Swisse Quality Club accreditation.
The following information will be covered:
- How to create a child safe environment
- Clarification about the three types of criminal record checks
- How to implement and comply with the Working with Children legislation
- Types of child abuse and what to do if a disclosure or suspicion occurs
- Cyber safety
- Support and resources available
The workshop will run from 9:30am to 11:30am on Wednesday the 18th June at the Department of Sport and Recreation in Leederville. To register, please RSVP to info@wasportsfed.asn.au by Friday 13th June.
