Australian Football in WA Schools continues to be the State’s number one participation sport. With double digit growth expected again in 2015 the WAFC in partnership with the West Coast Eagles are looking forward to a bumper year of school football programs

The WA Football Commission is delighted to have the West Coast Eagles and BHP Billiton committed to primary school programs the ‘Eagles Cup’ and ‘Eagles Faction Footy along with ‘Eagles Schoolboys Cup’ in Secondary schools for season 2015.

The WAFC are extremely grateful for the ongoing financial contribution to school football allowing us to provide participating schools with a considerable amount of resources to promote the game of Australian Rules Football throughout our education system.

One of the major challenges is to continually improve the school football environment for students. With this in mind and for the need not to “overload” teacher responsibilities, it is a credit to all Game Development staff members and AFL School Ambassadors for constantly striving to achieve these goals where values of respect, pride and responsibility prevail. The Eagles Cup and Eagles Faction footy programs typify these qualities focusing on the game environment by encouraging fun and fair play.

The Eagles Schoolboys Cup now enters its 32nd year and caters specifically for lower school boys in the Year 8 and 9. If last year’s finals series is any indication, with number of single figure margins, along with the Grand Final decided with a kick on the siren, we are in for another year of exciting Eagles Schoolboys Cup football.
