Seven teams are still in the hunt for top-five spots with two rounds remaining in the Sullivan Logistics WAFL season. We take a look at where your team can finish and the opponents ahead as the race for finals spots heats up.

1st: Peel Thunder (13-3, 161.4%)

Remaining fixtures: West Coast (home), South Fremantle (away)

Highest finish: Minor premiers

Lowest finish: 2nd

Peel Thunder are almost certainly going to claim the minor premiership with a two-game buffer ahead of Claremont, plus more than 30 per cent.

The Thunder are coming off 12 wins on the trot and are the favourites to win the flag.

2nd: Claremont (11-5, 129.89%)

Remaining fixtures: Subiaco (home), West Coast (away)

Highest finish: Minor premiers

Lowest finish: 6th

Claremont can still mathematically finish as minor premiers or slip out of the top-five altogether, such is the tightness of the finals face this season.

Staying in their second position on the ladder is the likely outcome given their percentage and two-win gap ahead of third-placed Perth.

3rd: Perth (9-7, 111.63%)

Remaining fixtures: Swan Districts (home), West Perth (away)

Highest finish: 2nd

Lowest finish: 7th

Perth has the easiest draw out of the finals hopefuls, facing eight-placed Swan Districts and wooden spooners West Perth in the final two rounds.

Winning one of those should be enough to lock in a top-five spot, while winning another will likely get them the all-important double chance.

4th: East Perth (9-7, 106.61%)

Remaining fixtures: West Perth (home), Subiaco (home)

Highest finish: 2nd

Lowest finish: 7th

East Perth has a banana peel home derby coming up this weekend against bottom-placed West Perth, who knocked them off last time the two sides met.

Their place in the five is likely to be determined by their final-round clash against Sullivan Logistics Stadium co-tenants Subiaco.

5th: South Fremantle (9-7, 106.49%)

Remaining fixtures: East Fremantle (away), Peel Thunder (home)

Highest finish: 2nd

Lowest finish: 7th

South Fremantle’s grand final re-match loss to East Perth last round saw them drop to fifth spot on the ladder.

Saturday’s away Fremantle Derby is crucial to their premiership defence hopes, especially with a clash against title favourites Peel Thunder coming in the last round.

6th: West Coast (9-7, 90.73%)

Remaining fixtures: Peel Thunder (away), Claremont (home)

Highest finish: 2nd

Lowest finish: 7th

It’s a tough run home for the Eagles, facing minor premiers Peel Thunder away this weekend followed by second-placed Claremont at home to finish their regular season.

Their poor percentage of 90.73 per cent also won’t help their cause of making a first finals series since 2019 but after three wins in a row and four from their last five, anything is possible.

7th: Subiaco (8-8, 104.34%)

Remaining fixtures: Claremont (away), East Perth (away)

Highest finish: 2nd

Lowest finish: 7th

Subiaco’s second-half fadeout against West Coast could prove costly after they lost their spot in the five and dropped all the way to seventh.

Second-placed Claremont at Revo Fitness Stadium is up next, then another top-five outfit in East Perth to finish off their home-and-away campaign.

8th: Swan Districts (5-11, 86.09%)

Remaining fixtures: Perth (away), East Fremantle (away)

Highest finish: Eighth

Lowest finish: Ninth

There’s been plenty of honourable losses for Swan Districts this season, but that hasn’t helped their spot on the ladder.

The Black Ducks can’t go any higher than their currently position of eighth, but can drop to ninth if they lose to East Fremantle in the final round.

9th: East Fremantle (5-11, 77.19%)

Remaining fixtures: South Fremantle (home), Swan Districts (home)

Highest finish: Eighth

Lowest finish: Ninth

It’s been a tough couple of months for East Fremantle, with injuries finally taking their toll after a promising start to the season.

Their final-round clash against Swan Districts at The Good Grocer Park is likely to decide whether they finish in eighth or ninth position.

10th: West Perth (2-14, 67.91%)

Remaining fixtures: East Perth (away), Perth (home)

Highest finish: 10th

Lowest finish: 10th

West Perth have already sealed the dreaded spoon but can still have a say in who plays finals if they knock off arch-rivals East Perth and fellow top-five outfit Perth in the final two rounds.
