The Coach Your Way program hit WA’s regions this month in a successful trip north.

As part of the Sullivan Logistics WAFL Trophy Tour, WA Football’s Female & Diversity Coaching Coordinator Bea Devlyn ran three well-attended workshops across the Mid-West and Gascoyne regions.

For new female coaches, Coach Your Way is designed to upskill and provide greater opportunities for women to get into the coaching box.

Twenty-one coaches from Geraldton, Dongara and Carnarvon earned their bronze coaching accreditation out of the program.

Devlyn highlighted the importance of getting out to the regions and connecting with female coaches looking to upskill in their communities.

“The opportunity to run coaching workshops alongside the Sullivan Logistics WAFL Trophy Tour was a huge success, with 21 new female coaches now having their bronze level accreditation through the Coach Your Way program,” Devlyn said.

“Being able to reach our country regions is important and to be able to upskill and give opportunities to the women in country football is vital to ensuring the continued growth of female football and women in football in those areas.”

The Coach Your Way program continues to build in 2026, with more than 120 new female coaches going through this program including three WAFLW programs – South Fremantle, Claremont and West Perth – with more to come later in the season.

Female coaches from across the State will be highlighted on WA Football’s platforms in July as part of the Women in Coaching Month.
