State Talent and Draft"
West Perth Football Club League players will don special guernseys featuring the British flag for their International Football clash against Subiaco at Joondalup Arena this Saturday, June 30.
The clash forms part of the club’s annual International Football Festival which celebrates the diverse community in the Falcons District. The district embraces the largest multicultural and migrant community within the State, overseeing participation and involvement of footy players from Hillarys through to Two Rocks.
The British flag featured on the jumpers the players will be sporting reflects the high percentage of British-born migrants in the area.
The festival, which enters its eighth year, is a free event for the entire family. It will kick off with the Reserves match, followed by an exhibition match between the Edmund Rice Centre Female Football Academy and Ocean Ridge Junior Football Club, before the League clash gets underway at 2.40pm.
In addition to the games, there will be a dedicated kids zone including face painting, games with giveaways, footy activities as well as international themed food trucks.
