The Sullivan Logistics WAFL Trophy wrapped up Geraldton on Thursday after three stops in four days and around 450 kids attending across the Mid West and Gascoyne regions.

More than 250 budding regional footballers flocked to Country Builders Stadium in Geraldton, home of Towns Football Club, for a free footy clinic hosted by some ex-AFL and AFLW stars.

Every youngster took home a free Sullivan Logistics football, got some autographs and selfies from the likes of former West Coast champion Andrew Gaff and ex-Eagles AFLW trio Krstel Petrevski, Hayley Bullas and Bea Devlyn after the clinic and took photos with the Sullivan Logistics WAFL and ATCO WAFLW trophies.

It was followed by a special sportsperson’s night inside Towns Football Club, with Gaff, Petrevski and Bullas all sharing stories about their time at the top level and current roles at WA Football.

“I’ve been delighted and overwhelmed by the support from the local communities in regional WA this week in our second edition of the Sullivan Logistics WAFL Trophy Tour,” Sullvian Logistics Founder Tim Sullivan said.

“It’s been heart-warming to see the communities of Carnarvon, Dongara and Geraldton get delivered some clinics, footballs and other giveaways, seeing the genuine excitement and joy on their faces makes it all worth it.

“A big motivation behind Sullivan Logistics’ partnership with the WAFL was to give back to the regional communities and get footballs into kids’ hands.

“Being born and bred in Quairading, I know the importance of sport in regional communities and look forward to continuing to build on our impact in years to come.”

The Sullivan Logistics Trophy also made it to Dongara on Monday and Carnarvon on Tuesday, with more than 90 locals flocking to the events at each town.

It was a picture-perfect evening in the coastal town as the WA Football and Country Football WA crew ran junior clinics out on the oval as their families watched on from the Sullivan Logistics Sports Deck, while all-female Coach Your Way coaching workshop was run inside the clubrooms.

The Coach Your Way program, hosted by former Eagles and Dockers defender Devlyn, was also a big hit in Dongara on Monday and Geraldton on Wednesday.

“We set out to grow the connection with the WAFL and the regions, leave a lasting impact and make as many kids smile as possible and I feel like we certainly achieved that across all three stops and six in our first two years of the tour,” WA Football’s Head of Commercial Oliver Condon said.

“We are incredibly lucky to have a partner like Sullivan Logistics, Tim Sullivan shares our vision and passion about getting the WAFL out to the regions and growing grassroots football.

“These regional visits are doing so much more than just taking the WAFL to regional WA, they’re strengthening the bond between the League and regional communities, while also making footy accessible to anyone who wants to give it a crack.

“The Coach Your Way program was an awesome addition this year and added another layer of impact to the tour.

“It couldn’t have been achieved without the support of our partners including Sullivan Logistics, ATCO, Kia, AAMI, Construction Training Fund, Asahi Beverages and Rixx Eyewear as well as Country Football WA who helped spread the word in the regions.

“We look forward to visiting more regional towns and footballs clubs next year.”
