The West Australian Football Commission is pleased to announce Mt Helena JFC President, Stewart Luxton, as The Sunday Times WA Football Volunteer of the Week.

Nominated by the Swans District, Stewart puts in a mountain of work behind the scenes at Mt Helena JFC dabbling in the roles of both Auskick and Nature Play Coordinator, whilst sparing time in his busy schedule to chair the Advisory Panel for the Elsie Austin Oval Re-Development.

Stewart is also working towards bronze level accreditation in the Quality Club Program in tandem with Mt Helena JFC Vice-President, Peter Allen.

He is a passionate advocate for the development of a strong Swans District Junior Competition and has provided a great deal of assistance to the Swans District Competition Director with the fixturing of the Swans District Hills Junior Competition.

Stewart is a prime example of the volunteers that underpin WA’s number 1 participation sport. Stewart is now into the running to win The Sunday Times WA Football Volunteer of the Year Award, where each district finalist is invited to the Sandover medal and the winner is announced. The state prize is a trip for two to the AFL Grand Final

Throughout the nomination period of The Sunday Times WA Football Volunteer of the Year, the WAFC will be recognising a number of our wonderful volunteers that contribute their time to football.
