Plenty of WA talent to feature in AFL Grand Final

The teams are out for Saturday’s AFL Grand Final and 10 West Aussies will feature across the two sides.

Fremantle comfortably have the most with eight WA products, headlined by All-Australian trio Luke Jackson (East Fremantle), Shai Bolton (South Fremantle) and Jordan Clark (Claremont).

Subiaco Colts premiership duo turned Dockers midfielders Neil Erasmus and Matthew Johnson, West Perth-bred defender Heath Chapman, Busselton-raised East Perth sharpshooter Jye Amiss and Geraldton-bred ex-East Fremantle defender Judd McVee are the other Dockers from WA.

Brisbane also have a WA flavour with West Perth product and Larke medallist Oscar Allen named for his first grand final appearance after crossing from the Eagles during the off-season.

Former Swan Districts player and Newman product Charlie Cameron will also line up for the Lions, hoping for his third flag in a row.

Seven WAFL clubs are represented on the big stage including two players apiece from East Fremantle, Subiaco and West Perth.

Coach Justin Longmuir is also a product of West Perth after coming through their country zone, growing up in the Wheatbelt town of Koorda.

Both teams have gone into the game unchanged.

Perth and Dongara product Jaeger O’Meara is one of Fremantle’s emergencies, while first-year Claremont draftee Cody Curtin is among the Lions’ emergencies.
