Unbeaten run continues for WAFriday, September 2, 2011 - 3:09 AM

WESTERN Australia continued its undefeated run at the  at the Kickstart National Championships in Queensland this morning, defeating Victoria/Tasmania by seven goals - 7.6 (48) to 1.0 (6).

The win added to victories earlier this week against South Australia, the Northern Territory and NSW/ACT at Southport.

WA is now almost certain to play in tomorrow's Championship Grand Final, which will be played as the curtain-raiser to the Gold Coast Suns and Hawthorn AFL game at Metricon Stadium.

The team is being coached by Des Headland (Subiaco) and wearing special Indigenous State jumpers designed by Aboriginal artist Richard Walley, who is the designer of many of the WAFL’s NAIDOC jumpers.

The new championship structure has been developed to provide a supported talented player pathway program that compliments the National U16 Championships and exposes Indigenous coaches, doctors, physiotherapist and trainers to an elite AFL program environment.
