Patersons Stadium absorbs 1 million litres of rainfallWednesday, July 10, 2013 - 1:40 PM

LAST night’s Foxtel Cup match at Patersons Stadium saw East Fremantle and Werribee fight it out in approximately 52mm of heavy rainfall.

Almost one third of the average rainfall for July fell in just two hours, pouring over 1 million litres of water into Patersons Stadium.

The stadium playing surface absorbed most of the water. The Fremantle Dockers change rooms were also submerged but have now drained and remain in good condition due to marine-grade carpeting.

West Coast Eagles training resumed on the ground this morning and facilities for players and fans at Patersons Stadium are ready for business as usual at this Sunday’s Derby.
