Women’s Country Football Championships Heads to MandurahMonday, September 30, 2024 - 11:10 AM

The countdown is on for a festival of footy at the 2024 Nutrien Ag Solutions Country Women’s Championships at Lane Group Stadium in Mandurah.

The two day event brings together two divisions with eight regional leagues competing in 16 matches on Thursday October 3 and Friday October 4.

Division 1 comprises teams from the South West, Kimberley, Great Northern and Peel.

South West has claimed the title in every year of the Championships and again will be difficult to beat.

Peel has earned promotion following a Division 2 Championship win last season.

Division 2 is made up of sides from the Great Southern, North Pilbara, Esperance and the Goldfields.

Great Southern was relegated from Division 1 and will be desperate to make amends with a strong performance.

Brent Sheridan, Manager country Football – South, has described how important it is for these regional sides to participate in the Championships.

“It is exciting to again have eight sides from the far reaches of the state come together for this year’s Women’s Championships,” said Sheridan.

“It is the pinnacle of Women’s football in regional WA, and we can’t wait to see what this year’s championships will bring.

“With the Championships entering their fifth year and now with two divisions, it’s clear that the quality of competition has grown year-on-year, along with an increase from five to eight teams over that time.”

2024 is the 50th year of Nutrien Ag Solutions partnership with Country Football WA.
